when setting up a company two key things you will need are a business trading address and a registered office address. Given you have a suitable Irish premises, these addresses may be the same but sometimes you may need or wish to use another address. Although you may use the same address for both trading and registered office, it is important to know that they have different purposes. Under the companies Act 2014, it is a legal requirement to have your addresses in order. Non compliance will prevent you from setting up your company. Here at Irish Formations we offer both a trading address and a registered office address.
Business Trading Address:
A trading address is the location where you carry out the physical work and where the production of work actually happens. Its the address where you will conduct your business from. This may be anywhere such as a home address, commercial unit, or rented office space. Having a business trading address is paramount because you need it for tax purposes.
Registered Office Address:
The registered office address can be any physical location in the Republic of Ireland. This is a place where your post and packages can be delivered to. A PO box will not suffice. This is the address where your company will be registered with the CRO (Companies Registration Office). All your CRO correspondence and legal documents will be dealt with through this address. It is vital that this address is always kept up to date with the CRO.
