Company Registrations Office Annual Report shows a positive outlook.

The Company Registrations Office Annual Report was published today. The Companies Registration Office is the central repository of public statutory information on Irish companies and business names. There have been some interesting results in this report. One of the most interesting figures from the report is that 15,506 new companies were incorporated in 2013, this is an average of 1292 per month and up from the previous year.

The number of new companies being incorporated (15,506) is up from 14,009 in 2012. This is a difference of +9.03% from the previous year, a positive result. The breakdown of new company types is as follows:

The number of single member companies on the register was 53,167 up from 49,374 in 2012, and the number of companies dissolved was 13,583 down from 14,049 another positive result.

New Business Names:

The CRO receives a large number of business name registrations each year. The chart below shows the number registered annually since 2008. The number of business name registrations is slightly up from the previous year. The number of new business names registered by the CRO in 2013 was 25,795, a 0.1% increase on 2012. 13,684 of these applications were paid for by the new credit card facility, to the value of €273,680. 84% of business name applications were filed electronically in 2013.
