- If you do not have a director living in the European economic area, then you will be required to acquire a section 137 non-resident directors bond which will add approximately 4 to 5 days to the incorporation.
- Your company will be incorporated at this point and you will be required to register for corporation tax if you trade with the company. If you own more than 15% of the shares in the company and are also a director of the company you will be required to acquire a PPSN number, which is a personal public service number. This number links you as an individual to revenue in Ireland. They will need this number to register you for Corporation Tax and if it is being applied for remotely, it can take 3 to 4 weeks. If you are a Director of the company and own more than 15% of the shares of the company a PPS number will be required.
It will not stop you from opening a bank account in Ireland or incorporating your company if you do not have a PPS number. A Personal Public Service number can also be applied for directly with the Irish Government.
