It is now possible to open a Single Director Company in Ireland
It is now possible to open a Single Director Company in Ireland since the enacting of the Companies act 2014 on 01st June 2015. Provision has been made, whereas before a Private limited required 2 Directors, now only one is required but a separate company Secretary is still required. This is a position Irish Formations can manage for companies also. The responsibility for compliance still rests with the Directors of the company.
To set up a Single Director company you will need to engage us to be your company Secretary, and this is managed through our Limited company Irish Formations Connect Limited. The forms are available HERE . Once this is done and you have chosen your company formation package , if an Irish Resident, or a Non-Resident Director Package , if a foreign resident we send out the signature pages to get your company formed. This is generally done same day if the forms are filled out online before 3pm on any working day.
Once the pages have been returned to our offices, signed, and with the required identification the company can then be incorporated within 3-5 working days unless the CRO have queries, or refuse the name. Irish Formations performs research on the availability of the name prior to submission to minimize the refusal. If the name is refused we contact the client, and then manage the re-submission of the application documents on your behalf.
Once the company is incorporated, depending on the package you take (for this case lets assume its the Premium Pack or Non-Resident Directors Package) we register the taxes required, put you in contact with the bank if necessary, and send you your final legal documents by post. Support is provided during and after the process, right up to the First Annual Return.
